How does electric strike door lock work.

Electric strike locks works by replacing the standard strike the metal plate with a hole in it that s in the door frame with an energized strike in which one side is cut out and replaced with a hinged piece of metal. Electric strike locks are opened from the inside by pressing a panic bar or other manual release device. The electric strike s surface pivots away from the direction of the latch upon receiving the proper signal which enables the door to be opened from the outside without the need to operate the door knob.
