If you are converting a standard door to a barn door i d recommend routering a groove in the bottom of the door rather than letting it swing free.
It was always in the way when open.
In our current house one is putting a regular door going into our toilet room in the master bath.
And if i were to move to a rustic farmhouse or beach house or lake house for that matter i d be all over a true to form barn door or even one made from reclaimed wood.
