2001 honda civic door lock if there is nothing jammed in the barrel you will need to pull apart the lining of the interior of the door disconnect the power motor for that switch then see if it locks by key sounds like the motor is seized of out of allignment easily fixed with a second hand or reco motor or witha simple adjustment. We really on this lock to unlock all doors of the car for our kids etc. The car is no longer under warranty. We have a 2007 honda fit dx.

Is there any easy fix. Is this a common problem. The general advice of spraying 10w d40 into the back door latch mechanism might work but you may need to go one step further. Getting power to the car is tricky if there s a trailer plug you could charge the battery through that or at least power up the system enough to operate the locks.
